Alice Marek

	Alice Marek, 96, of Du Quoin, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 12:15 a.m. at Marshall Browning Hospital.
	Mrs. Marek had worked in the Lard Room at the Packing Plant.  She was a member of Greenwood Methodist Church.
	She was born April 2, 1906 in Elkville, the daughter of William W. and Berthena Ann (Powell) Watson.  She married William Waller in 1924 at De Soto and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1944.  She then married Frank Marek on April 27, 1959 at Du Quoin and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1995.
	Surviving are two sons, Andrew Waller of Crossville, Tenn. and William Waller of Dewey, Ariz; four daughters, Wilma Johnson of Du Quoin, Roberta Swisher of Mulkeytown, Sharon Louis of Pinckneyville and Karen Waller of Du Quoin; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one son, Raleigh; three brothers and one sister.
	Funeral services were Monday, December 9 at 10 a.m. at Neal-McClure Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Morgan officiating.  Interment was in IOOF Cemetery at Du Quoin.
	Friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Neal-McClure Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 7:30 a.m. until time of services on Monday.
